So You Think Wins 2010 Underwood Stakes Beating Stablemate Dariana

September 20th, 2010

So You Think claimed another devastating win on Saturday in the $350,000 Group 1 Underwood Stakes (1800m) securing his spot as the short favourite in the 2010 Cox Plate betting.

The Bart Cummings-trained So You Think ($1.75) coasted to victory at Caulfield on Saturday, beating stablemate Dariana ($31) by an emphatic two and a half lengths with Chris Waller’s Metal Bender ($8) a gallant third a short-half-head further away.

Sportsbet have further slashed So You Think’s odds to win back to back Cox Plates this year, now paying $2.70.

After their eye-catching second, Dariana has also had her price reeled in for the 2010 Caulfield Cup, overtaking Moudre as the favourite.

The Group 1 Yalumba Stakes (2000m) on Caulfield Cup Day October 9, is So You Think’s next major target.

There was plenty of racing action at Caulfield on Saturday, including the other Group 1 feature, the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes won by Response.
